On Friday, September 12, 2025, the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate (FIRE) commenced fall semester programming with the 2025 FIRE Fall Kickoff & Coppola Family Real Estate Speaker Series. As part of this event, FIRE highlighted the importance of Catholic Social Teaching (CST) in real estate

The “Lasting Value in Real Estate” panel showcased approaches to real estate investment, design, and development that sustain lasting value. The panel was moderated by Paul Blaschko ’19, Associate Teaching Professor of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. Blaschko is also the director of the Sheedy Family Program in Economy, Enterprise, and Society. Other panelists included: Kelli Reagan Hickey '19 – Director of Formation, Francesco Collaborative; Joe Nickol '05 - Co-Founder, Principal, Development Lead, Yard & Company; and Mike Keen '85 - Managing Partner, Hometowne Development, President, The Bakery Group, and Partner, Neighborhood Evolution
