What do you like to do in your free time?

"I enjoy going to Mass, spending time with friends, throwing a football or frisbee on South Quad, and expanding my knowledge of theology."

What other activities are you involved in on campus?

"I serve as the Outside Guard (i.e. community service coordinator) for the Knights of Columbus and Treasurer of the Militia of the Immaculata. I am also a Sorin Fellow in the deNicola Center for Ethics and Culture, a member of the Real Estate @ Notre Dame Club (REND), and actively involved in my dorm."

Why CPI?

"I am drawn to the CPI because its work is both reflexively descriptive, in its effort to interpret historical and ongoing changes in Church property, and proactively applied, in its capacity to inform how those changes are engaged by Church leaders. More broadly, I am interested in real estate because of the role the built environment plays in shaping culture and community, as well as long-term social and economic outcomes. The CPI is compelling as a research environment where these perspectives are integrated in service of the Church’s mission, particularly in areas like diocesan restructuring and adaptive reuse."

Which CPI project has been most interesting?

"It has been fascinating to examine the consolidation and disposition of Church assets over the last two decades, seeing both what has proven prudent and what has yielded less than favorable outcomes. While it is often difficult to see closures and sales, it is an essential management process for the Church as it responds to the challenges of our time, and careful execution is critical."

What are your career aspirations?

"While I am still discerning my next step after Notre Dame, I know I want to place my talents at the service of the Church’s mission. I am drawn to real estate as a powerful force for good in the world, and I expect that development, management, and stewardship of property will continue to play an important role in my professional interests."
