John Meyer

CPI Executive Director (NDLS)

John Meyer joined Notre Dame Law School (NDLS) in February 2025 as Executive Director of the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate Church Properties Initiative (CPI). During the Spring of 2023, John was a Visting Scholar with the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate (FIRE). As CPI's Executive Director within NDLS, John is responsible for expanding CPI's research, education, and impact around legal issues affecting church property.

Before joining CPI, John served as the Executive Director of the Napa Institute from 2014-2023. In addition to his work with the Napa Institute, John has over 12 years of experience in real estate development, including as a Managing Partner at Beckett Development. John is an active member of several boards and advisory councils, including the Supervisory Committee of Notre Dame Federal Credit Union, the President's Advisory Council of FOCUS, the Catholic Advisory Board of the Museum of the Bible, and the Board of Directors of the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast.

John earned his BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a major in Economics from the University of Illinois and a Master of Non-Profit Administration (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Notre Dame. He also holds a certificate in Real Estate Development from Cornell University.
